Falls Church Restaurant Inspections: Preparing Food With Bare Hands

FALLS CHURCH, VA — Fairfax County regularly conducts health inspections for City of Falls Church and county restaurants. The frequency of inspections on the type of food served and how it is prepared.

“In our experience, it is unrealistic to expect that a complex, full-service food operation can routinely avoid any violations,” states the Virginia Department of Health’s website.

Here are some of the violations from Falls Church inspections in early October. Among the violations was food handling without gloves at McDonald's and Sea Pearl Restaurant. Both violations were corrected during the inspection.

Sea Pearl Restaurant: 8191 Strawberry Lane #2, Falls Church, VA 22042, last inspection: Oct. 11

violation: employee cutting lime without gloves (corrected)

Sunflower Vegetarian Restaurant: 6304 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church, VA 22044, last inspection: Oct. 10

violations: employee eating in food prep area, foods cold holding at improper temperatures (both corrected)
