(Updated) Falls Church Schools Decides on Snow Day For Tuesday

Afternoon and evening activities at the city's schools are canceled Monday due to snowstorm forecast.

FALLS CHURCH, VA — The Falls Church City Public Schools has closed all school buildings and offices on Tuesday, March 14. Falls Church Schools Day Care is also closed.

Also, FCCPS announced:

  • The MYP Personal Project Info Night that was set for Monday at George Mason High will be rescheduled for a later date.

Following standard procedure for snow days, the school system announced at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday whether schools will open for classes.

"Because our community is small and has its own snow removal resources, the city is often able to clear snow from streets very quickly," FCCPS says on its website. "As a result, our schools are often able to remain open when school systems in surrounding areas have to close."
