Falls Church Taco Shop Nominated for D.C. Area Award
Taco Bamba is up for the D.C. area's 'Favorite Fast Bites of the Year,' which the public can vote on.

FALLS CHURCH, VA -- Falls Church's Taco Bamba is up for a RAMMY award, a regional food and drink competition for the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington.
Taco Bamba's counter-serve Mexican restaurant received a nomination for Favorite Fast Bites of the Year Monday night. The public can vote for this and three other categories: Upscale Brunch of the Year, Casual Brunch of the Year and Favorite Gathering Place of the Year. Voting is open online through May 31 at 5 p.m.
The other nominees in the category include: Beefsteak, Cava Grill, Chase the Submarine and G by Mike Isabella.

To be eligible for an award, restaurants must be a RAMW member and be open for one year before Dec. 31, 2016. According to the category criteria, "this nominee is a delicatessen, quick-serve restaurant, mobile food vendor, or coffee shop (with food menu) that demonstrates a dedication to good food and good service in a fast-casual environment."
Taco Bamba's original location is in Falls Church and it has expanded to Vienna. This year, it will open a location in Springfield. Chef and Owner Victor Albisu also owns Del Campo, an upscale South American restaurant in Washington, DC and has cooked for President Obama and Michelle Obama.

RAMMY winners will be announced July 30 at a black tie gala.
