Annual Falls Church Tree Fest Held This Weekend

FALLS CHURCH, VA — In between holiday shopping at the Holiday Gift and Craft Show, take a look at the decorated trees up for auction at the Falls Church Tree Fest.

This event features 20 Christmas trees decorated and up for auction to benefit local nonprofits. Trees will be decorated by organizations as well as individuals seeking to raise funds for an organization. The trees will be on display with a silent auction from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday on the patio of Ireland’s Four Provinces, 105 W. Broad Street, Falls Church, VA.

The last bids will be accepted at 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Once winners are announced, trees may be taken home that evening or picked up between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sunday.

Participating organizations are the American Association of University Women, Arlington Philharmonic, Aurora House, Capital Caring Health, Comunidad, Ellie & Evangeline Foundation, Falls Church Arts, Falls Church Cable Access Corporation, Falls Church City Public Schools Choral Boosters Association, Fisher House, Food for Others, Friends of Cherry Hill, Friends of Falls Church Homeless Shelter, Grace Christian Academy, H-A-R-K Center, Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation, Mary Riley Styles Library Foundation, NOVA ScriptsCentral, Tinner Hill Heritage Foundation, and Village Preservation and Improvement Society.

Visitors may also stop by to view the decorations, vote for their favorite tree in the six people's choice categories, and enjoy a meal at Ireland’s Four Provinces.

This is the seventh year of the Falls Church Tree Fest. Started by Melissa Morse in 2014 as a fundraiser for local nonprofits, it is now run by the Falls Church-based volunteer organization Village Preservation and Improvement Society.
