Falls Church Welcomes New Grocery Outlet Location
The new grocery store in Falls Church is led by Virginia entrepreneur Prince Wafa, offering a range of affordable products.

FALLS CHURCH, VA — Grocery Outlet Holding Corp. officially opened its Falls Church store on Thursday. This marks the company's first location in Virginia, expanding its presence across the United States.
Virginia entrepreneur Prince Wafa will lead the new store as its independent operator. Omar Wafa will support the operation of the new location.
Kyle Noble, Grocery Outlet senior director of marketing, confirmed the expansion.

"We are so excited to be expanding Grocery Outlet’s footprint with our first location in Virginia," Noble said. He added that Prince Wafa is an excellent operator. "If you’ve never been to a Grocery Outlet before, we are looking forward to getting to know you and providing you and your family with new options for high-quality, affordable produce, meat and groceries," Noble stated. He also noted that familiar shoppers could expect something new.

Grocery Outlet operates over 560 stores nationwide. The company uses an opportunistic buying model to offer various products. This model aims to provide shoppers with unexpected finds, alongside fresh produce and meats.
According to the company's website, this business model can save shoppers an estimated 60% compared to conventional grocery stores. The company's founder, Jim Read, established the first Operator agreement in 1973.
Independent Operators like Prince Wafa make local decisions regarding hiring, merchandising, and marketing. They share profits and business risks with the national company. In return, the company provides training, mentorship, and support from marketing, finance, and accounting professionals. This model results in each Grocery Outlet location offering different items to its shoppers.
