Falls Church Woman Scores $100K With Lucky Lottery Numbers

The woman won the top prize of $100K by selecting important family dates as her numbers.

Kamala Simkhada had good reason to pick the numbers that won her a $100K top prize in the Virginia lottery.

The Falls Church woman used important family dates as her number for the Cash 5 drawing: 2-10-14-17-26. That luck paid off when she won the March 11 drawing.

“I’m so excited and happy!” she said after her big win.

Simkhasa bought the winning ticket at 7-Eleven at 1357 Chain Bridge Road in McLean. She plans to use the winnings to pay bills.

The chances of winning the $100K top prize in Cash 5 are 1 in 278,256. Drawings are held twice each day.

Lottery funds benefit public schools around Virginia. In fiscal year 2017, Falls Church City Public Schools received over $169K in lottery revenue, according to the Virginia Lottery.
