Gas Leak Reported At Mosaic District

Fire department units have the situation stable until the gas company arrives.

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue responded to a gas leak at the Mosaic District Monday morning.

The leak happened on Eskridge Road, on the west side of the outdoor shopping mall, according to a fire department tweet around 10:39 a.m. The fire department says workers may have struck a 2-inch gas line.

The fire department tweeted soon after that the situation was stable. Washington Gas is responding to the scene.

Units on scene set up a safety perimeter and checked buildings to ensure the leak did not spread. There were no injuries reported.

Eskridge Road between Lee Highway and William Drive is temporarily closed.
