Grace Christian Academy To Hold Veterans Day 10K

FALLS CHURCH, VA - From Grace Christian Academy: Grace Christian Academy (GCA) will be hosting the On Eagles’ Wings Veterans Day 10K race on Monday, November 12th at 10:00 a.m. In its 15thyear, the race attracts runners from all over the metro area. The course takes runners through Holmes Run Stream Valley Park and some beautiful neighborhood settings.

The race begins after a memorable opening ceremony which features the scholars of Grace Christian Academy. Refreshments are served during a lively awards ceremony and prize raffles immediately following the event.

Proceeds from On Eagles’ Wings will be shared between the Grace Christian Academy tuition assistance program which helps provide scholarships for economically disadvantaged families, and Decorate a Vet, a local charity dedicated to assisting Northern Virginia veterans take care of basic household chores such as cleaning gutters, clearing brush, trimming tree limbs, or maintaining their sidewalks and landscapes, beautifying their houses and yards, culminating each year on “decorating day” when hundreds of volunteers gather to decorate their homes for the holidays.

Grace Christian Academy serves a diverse student body. Over 50% of their students are minorities, and nearly 40% of their students receive tuition assistance due to financial hardship. Established in 1973, GCA exists to nurture its children and reach out to their community with a Bible-based Christian education. Grace Christian Academy is accredited with exemplary status by WELSSA (Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod School Accreditation), ACTS (Association of Christian Teachers and Schools), NCPSA (National Council for Private School Accreditation), and is recognized as a fully accredited private school in the Commonwealth of Virginia by the VCPE (Virginia Council for Private Education) as authorized by the Virginia Board of Education.

The registration fee for the 10K race is $45; $50 on race day. Runners can register for the race online: www.gracechristianacademy.org/10K. Registration is not required for the 3K walk and 1K fun run.
