Police have charged an Arlington man with a shooting inside a Bailey's Crossroads bar after business hours.

BAILEY'S CROSSROADS, VA — A man is facing charges for firing a gun inside an occupied Bailey's Crossroads bar, which causes injuries to two women.

The incident happened around 4 a.m. July 16 after business hours at Lion’s Den Lounge, 5820 Seminary Road. Police say the suspect got into an argument with other men in the lounge before firing two rounds into the ground.

Two women were injured by bullet fragments and debris and went to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police had identified Abdulkerim Halid, 25, of Arlington, as the suspect, but he left the scene before police arrived. Detectives obtained warrants to charge Halid with two counts of reckless handling of a firearm. Detectives located and arrested Halid Tuesday in the City of Alexandria with help from Alexandria Police. He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and held without bond.
