There's no shortage of tricks and treats in Falls Church for the days leading up to Halloween.

FALLS CHURCH, VA—From the Halloween Carnival to scary stories, there's some spooky fun for both adults and children in Falls Church during Halloween.

Here are some events to mark your calendars for on the final days of October:

1. Murder Most Victorian

Friday, October 27, 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

If you've ever wondered where Victorian authors got their inspiration for scary stories, this literary event at Cherry Hill Farmhouse is for you. Join us for an evening of 19th-century villainy as we uncover the true, murderous crimes that inspired the Victorian authors to craft the scary stories of their day. Cost is $5 per person and reservations are required by calling (703) 248-5171. This event is for ages 18 and up.

Mary Riley Styles Public Library: 120 N. Virginia Avenue

Saturday, October 28, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Come decked out in your spookiest costumes for a morning of trick-or-treat. Stop by different spots in the library. The event is for ages three and up.

3. Halloween Carnival

Community Center: 223 Little Falls Street

Saturday, October 28, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The annual Halloween Carnival has been a popular event for children for more than 30 years. Infants through sixth graders are invited to enjoy carnival games, a moon bounce, crafts, a haunted house, candy, and a live creepy creature show featuring the spookiest reptiles in nature. Young children (ages 0-6) should attend from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. Older children (ages 6-11) should attend from 7:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. Cost is $2 per child at the door. Adults and infants can attend free. Costumes are encouraged. Attendees should leave strollers at home or park outside the Community Center entrance.

4. Halloween Murals

Through October

Take a look at some of the spooky murals painted on business windows while you're out on the town. You may see some familiar cartoon characters among the ghosts and witches.
