Honorary Milestone RAMMY Awards Given To Falls Church Area Restaurants
Local eateries have been recognized with Honorary Milestone RAMMY Awards, given to restaurants with longstanding business in the DC region.

FALLS CHURCH, VA — Several Falls Church area restaurants are recipients of the Honorary Milestone RAMMY Award, given to restaurants with longstanding service to the DC region.
Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington's 40th annual RAMMY award winners were announced at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center Sunday night. The RAMMY awards are given to individuals and businesses demonstrating excellence in the DC region's food service industry. Award categories range from long-standing categories celebrating culinary excellence and pandemic-era categories recognizing the impacts to the food service industry.
Judges decided winners for most of the RAMMY categories, while the public voted on seven categories: Favorite Gathering Place of the Year, Favorite Fast Bites, Best Brunch of the Year, Outstanding Pop-Up Concept, Standout Family Meal Packages To Go, Splendid Holidays at Home and Hottest Sandwich Spot.

RAMMY awards are open to members of the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington, but publicly voted categories were open to any food service business in the DC region.
The Honorary Milestone RAMMY Awards were given in addition to the judge-voted and public-voted awards. Anthony's Restaurant in Falls Church was recognized for its 50th anniversary. Anthony's Restaurant is a family-owned restaurant serving Italian, Greek and American food since 1972. Opened by Anthony Akis, the restaurant was originally located in Falls Church City, but it was moved due to the development anchored by Harris Teeter at 301 W. Broad Street. Anthony's Restaurant is now located at 3000 Annandale Road outside city limits.

Another award recipient was Duangrat’s, which has been serving Thai cuisine for 35 years in Bailey's Crossroads. The restaurant was opened in 1987 by Ed and Pookie Duangrat, finding success due to the area's Southast Asian population.
La Côte d’Or Café, located just outside Falls Church city limits in Arlington, was also honored for its 30th anniversary. This restaurant serves Nouvelle French cuisine by Chef Jacques Imperato, who went to culinary school in Nice, France and worked at several French fine dining restaurants.
Other 2022 Honorary Milestone RAMMY Awards were given to Tabard Inn in DC for 100 years, 1789 Restaurant & Bar in DC for 60 years, The Tombs in DC for 60 years, Bombay Bistro in Rockville for 30 years, El Tamarindo in DC for 40 years, Mike’s American in Springfield for 35 years and Franklins in Hyattsville for 30 years.
