I-66 Crash Delays, Beltway Exit Closed: DC, NoVA Morning Traffic

Students in Loudoun County are joining others in the region in the return to school, so be on the lookout for kids crossing the road and school buses at bus stops. On the Road

As of 7:39 a.m., a crash on eastbound I-66 east of Sudley Road in Prince William County has continuing delays of 1 mile. No lanes remain closed.

As of 7:37 a.m., a crash on westbound O St NW at 7th St NW has blocked all lanes in Washington, DC.

As of 7:30 a.m., a disabled tractor trailer has closed the eastbound I-66 right shoulder east of Sudley Road in Prince William County.

As of 7:29 a.m., police activity has closed the northbound I-495 exit 52B (Little River Turnpike) in Fairfax County. Drivers can expect delays.

As of 7:23 a.m., a crash has closed the right lane and shoulder of southbound I-95 just south of Route 123 in Prince William County.

As of 6:32 a.m., a crash and police activity is blocking all lanes of Branch Ave SE in both directions between Alabama Avenue SE and Bangor Street SE in Washington, DC.

As of 6 a.m., flashing traffic lights were impacting Suitland Parkway in both directions at Firth Sterling Avenue SE in Washington, DC.

Drivers should be aware of a new traffic pattern — a flyover ramp opens from northbound I-495 to westbound I-66 (exit 49) in Fairfax County.

On the Metro

On the Orange Line, the Minnesota Ave, Deanwood, Cheverly, Landover and New Carrollton remain closed through Labor Day due to a summer platform improvement project. Local and express shuttles are available at Stadium-Armory.

Weather

No weather hazards are reported by the National Weather Service on Thursday. Forecasters expect increasing clouds, with a high near 91. At night, a slight chance of showers before 11 p.m. and mostly cloudy with a low around 72.
