Inova to Lease Former Exxon Mobil Campus: Report

Inova Health System plans to lease the wooded 117-acre campus from ExxonMobil, across the street from its Merrifield hospital campus, to create the Inova Center for Personalized Health, according to a report by the Washington Business Journal.

Exxon Mobil, based in Irving, Texas, is building a large facility in The Woodlands in Texas large enough for 10,000 employees.
The Merrifield campus was renamed One Fairfax. Buildings on campus have an indoor pool, large cafeteria, meeting rooms, 15,000-square foot fitness center and a 1.1 mile nature trail.

Inova CEO Knox Singleton and Gov. Terry McAuliffe are set to make a special joint announcement early Monday morning at Inova, the hospital said in a news release.
They are expected to discuss the future of genomics research, personalized cancer care and the impact they will have on economic development for the region.
“This announcement is a true milestone in Inova’s journey to transform patient care and advance genomic research and education,” the hospital said in the release.
