Man Accidentally Shoots Self In West Falls Church Apartment

Fairfax County Police say a man got shot when his gun accidentally went off in his West Falls Church apartment Friday.

Around 3 p.m., police responded to Fairfax Hospital, where the man was being treated for non-life-threatening gunshots injuries. Police say Denis He, 38, of Arlington he was in his apartment in the 7600 block of Lee Highway when he tried to take out a 9mm handgun from a holster.

It is unclear how the gun went off, but he was injured by a bullet graze.

Police are consulting with the Commonwealth's Attorney Office on possible charges.
