Man Charged For Starbucks Bomb Threat In Falls Church Area
The man reportedly said he had a bomb when a Starbucks employee asked him to leave.

A man is facing charges for the bomb threat at a Starbucks in the Falls Church area of Fairfax County on Saturday, Nov. 3. David Velasquez, 28, of Fairfax was charged with threats to bomb or damage buildings and being drunk in public. He is being held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
Fairfax County Police were called to the scene when Velasquez reportedly made threats around 4 p.m. at the Yorktowne shopping center Starbucks. Police say he was drunk and passed out when a Starbucks employee woke him and asked him to leave. Velasquez refused to leave and claimed he had a bomb in his backpack that would explode in two minutes.
Employees evacuated and called 911 while Velasquez went into the bathroom and refused to come out. Police brought in crisis negotiation personnel, who tried to negotiate with Velasquez for over an hour. He eventually came out and was taken into custody.

An explosive ordinance disposal (EOD) team came in to look at the suspect's backpack and found no threat.
Before he was taken to jail and charged, Velasquez went to the hospital due to his level of intoxication.
