Man Who Grabbed Briefcase Caught Outside McDonald's: Police

The Falls Church man is behind bars following the Wednesday night theft at McDonald's in Seven Corners, say Fairfax County police.

FALLS CHURCH, VA — A Falls Church man is behind bars after Fairfax County police charged him Wednesday night with punching another man inside a McDonald's and stealing his briefcase.

Kenneth Smith, 28, is being held at the Adult Detention Center in Fairfax City on a robbery charge, the police said.

The robbery victim, a 54-year-old man, told police that he was standing inside the McDonald's restaurant in Seven Corners, in the 6100 block of Arlington Boulevard (Route 50), at about 9:20 p.m. when another man started harassing him. He told the suspect, identified as Smith, to stop, but Smth punched him and took his briefcase.

Smith ran out of the McDonald's and a witness stopped him, the police said. Officers then arrived at the scene and took Smith into custody.
