Multiple Fentanyl Overdoses In Fairfax County Lead To Man's Conviction
A Dumfries man was convicted by a federal jury for six overdoses involving fentanyl. One of the overdoses was fatal.
BAILEY'S CROSSROADS, VA — On Wednesday, a Dumfries man was convicted by a federal jury for six overdoses, including one death in Bailey's Crossroads.
According to prosecutors, Michael Vaughn, 28, distributed cocaine laced with fentanyl at a party in the Skyline area of Bailey's Crossroads. He was convicted on charges of distribution of fentanyl resulting in death and serious bodily injury, and possession with the intent to distribute fentanyl.
In September 2021, Fairfax County police and rescue units responded to six people who overdosed in the 5500 block of Seminary Road. All six were taken to the hospital, and the administration of Narcan saved five of the people. A sixth person died of a fentanyl overdose.

According to Fairfax County Police, the victims, aged between 23 and 35, came from Babylon Futbol Cafe in Bailey's Crossroads to their apartment before the overdose. The mother of one victim found the six unconscious people inside the apartment and called 911.
Prosecutors provided evidence at trial that Vaughn intentionally added fentanyl to the cocaine. In addition, he had about 60 grams of fentanyl powder at his home when he was arrested on Oct. 20, 2021.

Vaughn faces a mandatory minimum of 20 years in prison. He will be sentenced on Dec. 21.
