New Logo Released For Justice High School
The school will begin implementing the name change this summer.

As J.E.B. Stuart High School gets closer to officially becoming Justice High School, the district has revealed a new logo.
The logo reflects the students' selection of Wolves as the new mascot. The Fairfax County School Board voted to change the school's name to Justice High School in October. The name represents Justices Thurgood Marshall, Barbara Rose Johns, Louis Gonzaga Mendez Jr., and others who have fought for justice.
The school will be renamed Justice High School as of July 1, 2018. The name change must be fully implemented by the 2019-20 school year.

The school board began efforts to change the school's name following a two-year effort by students and activists. The high school was named for J.E.B. Stuart in 1959, several years after Brown v. Board of Education ruled segregation unconstitutional. It is speculated that the naming was in response to the Supreme Court decision as something of a protest, though it's entirely possible that the name could just have been a way to honor a military general.
