Crash Kills Woman In Her Driveway In Lake Barcroft Area
Police are investigating the fatal crash involving a car backing into a driveway.
LAKE BARCROFT, VA — A woman was killed in a vehicle crash Sunday night in her home's driveway in the Lake Barcroft area, according to Fairfax County Police.
The crash happened around 5:45 p.m. in the 6300 block of Lakewood Drive. Detectives determined the woman exited the 2006 Toyota 4Runner to assist her husband with backing the car into the driveway. The man lost control as he reversed, striking the woman and the home.
The victim, identified as Catherine Ann Balsis, 73, of Falls Church, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances that led to the crash. Foul play is not suspected, and alcohol was not involved.
