A woman was struck by the vehicle she was exiting, according to Fairfax County Police.

SEVEN CORNERS, VA—A pedestrian died after being struck in the Seven Corners area Friday, April 12, Fairfax County Police say.
The crash happened in the 2900 block of Peyton Randolph Drive after 3 p.m. A woman was exiting the passenger side of a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee and fell into the road when the vehicle drifted backyards. Police believe the driver did not realize the car was in reverse and accelerated, striking the woman and an unoccupied car.
The victim, Amolia Lozano, 74, of Falls Church was taken to the hopsital and pronounced dead. The driver stayed on the scene and is cooperating with detectives. Alcohol and speed are not likely factors in the crash. Police do not expect charges will be placed.
