Police To Close Lanes For Building Demolition In Downtown Falls Church
Lanes of Washington St. and Broad St. in Falls Church will be closed each night from Sunday through Thursday for a building demolition.

FALLS CHURCH, VA — Certain lanes of Washington Street and Broad Street will be closed each night from Sunday through next Thursday as the building at the corner of N. Washington Street and E. Broad Street is demolished, the City of Falls Church said Thursday.
Each night from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., both northbound lanes of N. Washington St. between Broad St. and Park Place will be closed. Two lanes of westbound traffic in the 100 block of E. Broad St. will also be blocked off from 9 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. between Sunday and Thursday.
Falls Church police officers will be on the two streets, detouring traffic each night during the demolition.

Last month, officials officially launched construction of Broad & Washington, a large mixed-use project that will require the demolition of the building at the corner of N. Washington Street and E. Broad Street.
The Broad & Washington project is scheduled to be completed in spring 2024.
