Police: Falls Church Man Dies Thursday in Crash
He was driving a van in the Springfield area and hit a tree; police are investigating how the crash happened.
A Falls Church man lost his life today after crashing his van into a tree, according to Fairfax County Police.
Crash reconstruction unit detectives are investigating how the fatal crash occurred Thursday, at around 12:15 p.m.
The 61-year-old man identified as Lawrence Lee Lawson of Falls Church was driving alone in his 2011 Ford Van northbound on Loisdale Road.

For unknown reasons, the van left the road to the right, struck a tree and a fence in front of 6999 Loisdale Road.
A motorist contact 9-1-1; the victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Office of the Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death. There were no other vehicles or people involved in the crash.
