Police: Homeless Man Found Dead in Falls Church Area

Two Fairfax County residents discovered what appeared to be the body of an adult male Sunday lying in a wooded area near South Street and Holmes Run Road (see map above), Fairfax County Police announced Monday afternoon in a news release.

The discovery was made at about 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, according to police.

Police, Fire and Rescue units arrived and confirmed the death a short time later, police said.

The subsequent investigation determined that the deceased, Robert S. Johnson, 66, was homeless and had recently been discharged from a local hospital where he had been treated for an undisclosed medical issue, according to FCPD.

There were no signs of suspicious activity at the scene, police noted. The death appears to be from natural causes, police said.
