Police Investigate Homicide Outside Bailey's Crossroads Bar
A Maryland man was killed in a shooting in the early hours Saturday morning outside a restaurant on Columbia Pike near Route 7, police say.

Fairfax County Police are investigating a homicide that took place in the early hours Saturday in the Bailey’s Crossroads area.
Fairfax County Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the subject or subjects responsible for the death of 20-year-old Darnell Rashard Ford of Capital Heights, Md.
Shortly after 2 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13, Ford was apparently shot by someone outside the Safari Lounge, located at 5831 Columbia Pike. Ford was in the parking lot to the rear of the business when the shooting occurred. There were several celebrations taking place at the lounge and police believe someone has vital information about the shooting.

The Facebook page for the bar describes it as a hookah lounge with an “East African vibe.”
Detectives do not believe this is a random act and therefore there is no apparent, overt threat to public safety.
