Port City Brewing Fan? Four-Course Beer Dinner on Tap in Merrifield

If you're a fan of Port City Brewing Company of Alexandria, there's a special beer dinner brewing in Merrifield next week.

The four-course beer dinner will be held Wednesday, March 12 at Matchbox restaurant at the Mosaic District in Merrifield. What you'll get: A menu crafted by Executive Chef Daniel Watterson plus a chat with the brewmaster, while sampling a selection of home-grown craft beers.

Here's what's on the menu, and the accompanying brews:

                        Beet caprese salad, mossarella, rye crumbs, basil arugula

                        Essential Pale Ale

• Second Course

                        Rabbit sausage, juniper, minted mushy peas, port wine gastrique

                        Tartan Ale

• Third Course

                        Grilled venison loin, wild mushroom ravioli, asparagus, pearl onion

                        Colossal Three

• Fourth Course

                        Chocolate, peanut butter, house made marshmallow, graham cracker

                        Colossal One
