Mount Daniel Elementary School in Falls Church will host nationally recognized hip-hop artist and educator Pinqy Ring (Marisol Velez) and professional beatboxer AirLoom Beats on March 10-13 for a dynamic, four-day residency designed to introduce students to the art, history, and cultural impact of hip-hop.
Funded through the Falls Church Education Foundation (FCEF) and the Falls Church Elementary PTA grant programs, The Power of Voice: A Hip-Hop Residency will immerse students in rhythm, rhyme, storytelling, and beatboxing — while celebrating hip-hop as a globally influential cultural movement rooted in Black culture.

- A whole-school assembly introducing the foundations of hip-hop, beatboxing, and storytelling
- Grade-level workshops (K-2) where students actively engage in rhythm, rhyme, collaboration, and creative expression
- A culminating showcase where students perform alongside Pinqy Ring and AirLoom Beats
The residency will culminate in a free community performance featuring the artists, along with many Mount Daniel students, on Friday, March 13, at 6:00 PM at the Meridian High School Auditorium in Falls Church.
The event is free and open to all families and community members.
