Rare Comic Books Stolen From Falls Church Business, Reward Offered

A reward is being offered for the recovery of comic books stolen from Victory Comics, a small business in Falls Church.

FALLS CHURCH, VA — A reward is being offered for the recovery of rare comic books stolen from a Falls Church small business.

A break-in happened overnight between Monday and Tuesday at Victory Comics, 586 S. Washington Street. Around 6:45 a.m. Tuesday, City of Falls Church Police responded to Victory Comics and found the front door had been shattered. The owner was notified by police.

The owner's initially told police at least $40,000 in comic books were stolen. But owner Jeff Weaver later told NBC Washington that his estimate increased to $100,000 in stolen items.

Weaver told the news station the thief did not take anything from the cash register. But among the items stolen were a 1960s first issue of X-Men and other rare comic books. A list of comic books stolen from Victory Comics is being shared on social media.

Victory Comics shared an update on Facebook Wednesday, saying the store is open normal hours from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The business is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the return of the stolen comic books and $2,500 for information leading to the suspect's arrest.
