Rat Holes Near Dumpster: Restaurant Inspections In Falls Church
Health inspectors found rat-made holes and more at Falls Church restaurants.

FALLS CHURCH, VA -- Fairfax County regularly conducts health inspections for local restaurants. The frequency of inspections on the type of food served and how it is prepared.
“In our experience, it is unrealistic to expect that a complex, full-service food operation can routinely avoid any violations,” states the Virginia Department of Health’s website.
Here are some of the violations from recent inspections in May. Among the violations were rat-made holes near a dumpster, employees not properly washing hands before handling food and raw food stored over cooked food.

violations: employees not properly trained on when to wash hands, no bare hand contact with ready to eat foods, proper cooling methodology, employee not washing hands before food prep, employee put limes and lettuce on customer's plate without gloves, gloves not changed after handling raw meat, shrimp not frozen to ensure parasite destruction, queso dip not properly cooled within six hours, chicken, beans, ribs and pico de gallo observed cold holding at improper temperatures, foods not dated or discarded within 24 hours, no raw/undercooked food disclosure on menu for eggs, refrigerator not operating properly, pest control strips located over food
