Restaurant Closes at Mosaic District: Report
Eater DC reports that Gypsy Soul has closed at Merrifield shopping center.

All signs point to the closure of restaurant Gypsy Soul at the Mosaic District in Merrifield, according to a report by Eater DC.
In June, the owners of the Mosaic District were trying to evict the Gypsy Soul restaurant, saying the restaurant owners owed them more than $250,000, the Washington Post reported.
The Post reported the lawsuit was filed to evict Gypsy Soul, owned by chef R.J. Cooper and his wife Judith Cooper, by Eskridge, a company partly owned by Edens, the developers of Mosaic.

There are several plans coming for the Gypsy Soul space, Eater DC reports:
- A pop-up preview of Requin, a new Southwest DC restaurant specializing in fish. The endeavor is a partnership between Mike Isabella and Jennifer Carroll.
- A permanent restaurant, Greek taverna-inspired Kapnos Kouzina, also by Isabella, will take over the space in early 2016, the news site reports. The first Kapnos Kouzina is set to open this fall in Bethesda.
