Sexual Assault Suspect Punches Victim Before Fleeing Bailey's Crossroads Apartment: Police
The Fairfax County Police Department is investigating a sexual assault that occurred Thursday morning in the Bailey's Crossroads area.

BAILEY'S CROSSROADS, VA — The Fairfax County Police Department is investigating a sexual assault that occurred Thursday morning in the Bailey's Crossroads area of the county.
Police officers went to the 6000 block of Knollwood Drive at 5:10 a.m. in response to the report of a man inside an apartment. Two men had entered the apartment and one of the men went into a bedroom where the victim was sleeping, the police said.
The victim awakened to the man sexually assaulting her. The man punched the victim, and then the two men ran from the apartment, according to the Fairfax County police.

Officers, canine units and a helicopter searched the area, but the two men were not found, the police said.
Both suspects are described as 18-year-old Hispanic men, one with long curly hair and both wearing dark jackets and dark pants. Detectives are continuing to investigate the assault to get a better description of the suspects and search the area for potential surveillance footage, the department said.

Victim specialists from the police department's Major Crimes Bureau’s Victim Services Division have been assigned to ensure the victim is receiving assistance, the police said.
