Shelter-In-Place Lifted After Gun Damage Found In Bailey's Crossroads
Fairfax County Police ruled out a "high-caliber weapon" as the cause of gunshot damage to vehicles Friday in Bailey's Crossroads.

BAILEY'S CROSSROADS, VA — After police called for a shelter-in-place due to gunshots damaging vehicles Friday, police determined it was not from a "high-caliber weapon" or an elevated location. The shelter-in-place was lifted as of 5:30 p.m. Friday.
Two to three vehicles were found with damage in the 3500 block of South Jefferson Street, which is near shopping centers. Officers investigating the damage confirmed it was from gunfire.
Police have received no reports of injuries. There have been no additional reports of gunshots beyond the damage to vehicles.

Police searched the area for several hours as detectives pursued leads from community members. Leesburg Pike and S. Jefferson Street are now open.
