Sobriety Checkpoint Is Friday In Falls Church

FALLS CHURCH, VA—Drunk drivers, beware: Fairfax County Police will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint in the Falls Church area Friday, Oct. 13.

The checkpoint will happen in the McLean District at Arlington Boulevard (Route 50) and Allen Street.

When Fairfax County Police conduct checkpoints, hundred of drivers pass through and are screened for alcohol use. Last year, 1,980 people were charged with driving under the influence in Fairfax County. That's an increase of over 100 from the previous year.

A time has not been announced, but checkpoints typically happen in the late hours of the night. Police remind residents to not drink and drive. In Virginia, the legal limit of blood alcohol concentration is 0.08 percent.
