Summer Camps Canceled Through July 2 In Falls Church
The Summer Fun Playground Program is tentatively scheduled, and a decision on July and August camps will come in mid-June.

FALLS CHURCH, VA — Most summer camps run by the Falls Church Recreation and Parks Department have been canceled through July 2. The only exception is the Summer Fun Playground Program, which will begin on June 22 if Northern Virginia enters phase two of reopening by that date. A decision about other summer camps in July and August will be made by June 15.
The cancellations include Teen Excursion, Field Trip Frenzy, Wet N’ Wild, Amusement Parks Thrills and Chills, Camp Olympia Horseback Riding and Sports, Junior Golf Camp, fencing camps at NOVA Fencing Club, Martial Arts Camp at MiKiDo Mixed Martial Arts Center the week of July 20, educational theatre camps and Funtastic Workshops camps.
Extended care is canceled for the entire summer but will be available for the Summer Fun Playground Program by registration from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The city is accepting wait list registrations for camps. Payment is not required for a wait list, and campers will be enrolled when openings become available.
The city's website states "every effort will be made by the Recreation and Parks Department to place the children of essential workers into camp programming." Essential workers employed by city government and Falls Church City Public Schools will have priority, followed by essential workers who live in the City of Falls Church.
