Suspicious Pair Approach Child Walking Home In West Falls Church

Police are seeking two people who may have tried to lure a young child with a treat.

Fairfax County Police are investigating a suspicious incident involving two people talking to a young child in West Falls Church Monday.

The girl had been walking home from Pine Spring Elementary with her adult brother around 3:45 p.m. when the unknown man and woman approached. The pair came up to them at Pine Spring Road and Meadow View Road and offered the girl a treat, motioning her toward them.

The brother moved his sister away from them and made it home safely. Police got word of the incident from the elementary school, who the children's mother reported it to.

The woman is described as white, between 40 and 50 years old, 5 foot 2, 140 pounds and with shoulder-length straight blonde or gray hair. She was wearing black pants and a white jacket with a hood. Police have released a sketch of the female suspect. The man is described as between 40 and 50 years old with short hair. The couple is believed to have been driving a newer model white passenger van with a yellow license plate.
