Target Opens In City Of Falls Church

The new small-format Target store is open for business in Falls Church.

FALLS CHURCH, VA—Target has opened its City of Falls Church location at the Lincoln at Tinner Hill mixed-use development. The store held a ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday, March 6 with Mayor David Tarter and City Council and opened to the public Wednesday, March 7 at 7 a.m.

The 26,000-square-foot store is much smaller than a normal Target location but with the same variety of products. Given its location by residential living spaces at Lincoln Hill, the store aims to provide a "one-stop shop" for working professionals and families with children, store team leader Beth Thiesfeldt told Patch.

"This will be the first more suburban [small format] store in the DC area," said Thiesfeldt. "We're really excited to bring this kind of convenience to the City of Falls Church."

The location is the fourth small format store in the DC region, joining Rosslyn, College Park, Md. and Bethesda, Md. Three more small-format stores in Cleveland Park, Ivy City and Ballston are slated to open in the next three consecutive years.

Opening festivities aren't over yet. The public is invited to the grand opening Sunday, March 11 at 8 a.m. The first 1,000 guests will get a reusable bag.

The store is located at 500 South Washington Street and includes a free parking garage for shoppers. Store hours are Mondays-Fridays 7 a.m.-10 p.m., Saturdays 8 a.m.-11 p.m. and Sundays 8 a.m.-10 p.m.
