Tattoos Only Lead in Mystery of Injured Pedestrian

Man was struck by a car Nov. 19. Names written on his body are the best leads police have to learn his identity.

“Family Devotion” is one of several large tattoos on a man’s body. Those tattoos, including several names, are the best leads police have to learn the man’s identity after he was struck by a car.

Investigators believe the man had just exited a bus in the Falls Church area when he attempted to cross Route 50 and was struck. The driver stayed on the scene and detectives say neither speed nor alcohol were factors in the crash.

As the man remains hospitalized in the Trauma ICU at Inova Fairfax Hospital, the mystery remains: Who is he?

His tattoos seem to indicate he has family members with the names Thien, Lam, Tai, Quy and Sary. Detectives released images of his tattoos in hopes that someone will recognize them and be able to identify the man.

He could be 30 to 45 years old, according to police. He is between 5 feet 5 inches tall and 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 150 to 170 pounds. He has short, black hair and brown eyes. He may possibly go by the name Truc.

If anyone recognizes the tattoos or believes they may know the identity of the man, they can call Fairfax County Police at 703-691-2131.
