Update: Gas Leak Secured in Falls Church

Update: Washington Gas has secured the gas leak near a Falls Church apartment building and is investigating the source.

(Updated 2:53 p.m. Wednesday) FALLS CHURCH, VA -- A gas leak was reported on North Roosevelt Boulevard in the City of Falls Church Monday. The leak was spotted near the street next to the Roosevelt Towers apartment building.

Washington Gas is on the scene and has secured the leak. The company is now working to identify if the leak originated from the apartment building. No homes have been evacuated.

Traffic has reopened on the Northbound lanes of Roosevelt Boulevard between Wilson Boulevard and Roosevelt Street. After the leak was reported, residents of adjoining streets were temporarily advised to seek alternate routes.
