Traffic Stop Yields DUI, Heroin, Firearm Charges for Alexandria Man

Here’s a look at the most recent crime in the City of Falls Church, from Aug. 10-16, from the weekly crime report released Tuesday.

• Larceny from Building, 900 block N. Sycamore St. On Aug. 10, police received a report of a stolen bicycle for a residence.
• Larceny from Building, 1216 W. Broad St. (Native Foods Restaurant) On Aug. 11, cash was reported stolen from the register.
• Burglary, 500 block Roosevelt Blvd. On Aug. 12, police received a report of a stolen electronic equipment from various rooms.
• Larceny from Building, 200 block S. Cherry St. On Aug. 12, police received a report of stolen cash from a residence.
• Smoking Violation, 6757 Wilson Blvd. #16 (Le Mirage) On Aug. 13, Son M. Tran, 38, was cited for Smoking in a Non-Designated area.
• Assault, 220 N. Washington St. (State Theater) On Aug. 14, police responded to the area for a report of an altercation. After an investigation, Kim A. McKenzie, 58, of Aliquippa, PA, was arrested for Simple Assault & Battery.
• Driving Under the Influence, Narcotics Violations, Weapons Violation, 1100 block W. Broad St. On Aug. 15, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a traffic violation. The driver, Myles D. Lyons, 22, of Alexandria, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence, Refusal to Submit to a Blood or Breath Test, Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, two counts of Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance, Possession with Intent to Distribute Heroin, Possession of a Firearm while in Possession of Drugs, and Drinking while Operating a Motor Vehicle.
• Smoking Violation, 6757 Wilson Blvd. #16 (Le Mirage) On Aug. 15, Binh D. Tran, was cited for Smoking in a Non-Designated Area.
• Driving Under the Influence, 300 block Hillwood Ave. On Aug. 16, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation. The driver, Juan A. Lorenzo Escalante, 38, of Falls Church, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.
• Urinating In Public, 100 block Park Pl. On Aug. 16, Ian C. Shores, 32, of Arlington, was arrested and released on summons for Urinating In Public.
• Larceny of Vehicle Parts, 500 block Randolph St. On Aug. 16, police received a report of a stolen license plate.
