Tree Lightings 2022: See Holiday Kick-Off Events Around Falls Church
To help you get in the holiday spirit, Falls Church's holiday kick-off and other events are planned in the coming weeks.

FALLS CHURCH, VA — For many families, tree lightings are a way to officially welcome the start of the holiday season. The Falls Church area has several kick-off events planned.
The City of Falls Church will move its Lighting of the Trees Celebration to a new location this year. The event will happen at Modera Founder's Row, 110 Founders Avenue, on Monday, Nov. 28 at 6 p.m. Along with the lighting of the trees along Broad Street with city officials, the event will include food trucks, hot chocolate and cookies from Rock Star Realty Group and Santa escorted by the Falls Church Volunteer Fire Department.
Before Falls Church's event, Tysons Corner Center will light its holiday tree on the Plaza on Friday, Nov. 18 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Santa will be on hand to light the tree, and there will also be live music, community performances, a pop-up market with mall retailers, specialty beverages by Barrel + Bushel, complimentary s’mores and hot chocolate station, giveaways and more. Santa visits and photos will be available at the mall through Dec. 24, including days for pets and sensory-friendly visits.

The Boro in Tysons will also host holiday festivities, including its Rudolph’s Rockin’ Reindeer Games on Dec. 3 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with seasonal music, arts and crafts, Santa photo ops, a scavenger hunt and more. A Holiday Movie Pajama Party will follow on Dec. 11 with screenings of holiday classics at ShowPlace ICON Theatre (9:45 a.m.- Arthur Christmas, 10 a.m. - Polar Express, and 10:15 a.m. - Elf).
Head to the Mosaic District for a tree lighting and holiday parade on Friday, Nov. 25 from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Strawberry Park. Santa will visit Mosaic District atop a fire truck and will be available to meet visitors after the tree lighting in the Target lobby. The schedule includes live entertainment from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., a holiday parade from 6:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., and tree lighting at 7 p.m. Attendees can also watch "Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas" in Strawberry Park at 7:30 p.m. Mosaic District. Mosaic District will also host a Holiday Village with URBNMarket Dec. 3 to 4 and Dec. 17 to 18 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Other upcoming holiday events around Falls Church include A Very Victorian Christmas at Cherry Hill Farmhouse on Saturday, Nov. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Holiday Gift and Craft Show with Children’s Shoppe at the Falls Church Community Center on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 4 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Stay tuned for updates on the Falls Church Volunteer Fire Department's Santamobile, which will make visits from Dec. 15 to 23.
