VIDEO: Police Helicopter Assists in Finding Critical Missing Juvenile in Falls Church Area

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Fairfax County Police released video Tuesday of the rescue of a juvenile last week from the water at Lake Barcroft. Read more about the rescue below the video.

Officers responded to the 6300 block of Cavalier Corridor last Thursday for a report of a critical missing juvenile.

Shortly after 8:30 p.m., the Fairfax County Police helicopter, Fairfax 1, utilized its thermal imaging camera and night vision capabilities, finding the juvenile in the water of Lake Barcroft to the rear of the 6300 block of Crosswoods Drive.

Fairfax 1 guided officers to her exact location where they then provided emergency care to the juvenile until rescue arrived. The juvenile was transported to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

A potentially tragic outcome was avoided thanks to the efforts of the officers on the ground and crew of Fairfax 1.
