Virginia Election: Northam Destroys Gillespie In Falls Church
Northam was always going to beat Gillespie in Falls Church, but the results were staggering.

FALLS CHURCH, VA—On Tuesday night, Northam and the Democratic Party swept all three statewide positions in a massive victory one year after the surprise election of President Donald Trump. Northam won with 53.87 percent of the vote, a nearly 10-point lead over Republican Ed Gillespie. The victory was made possible by his performance in Northern Virginia, including in Falls Church.
It wasn't a matter of who voters were going to choose for governor but rather by how much. A staggering 78.97 percent of votes went to Northam in the city with all four precincts reporting. Northam won the city by a higher margin than Gov. Terry McAuliffe, who had a 48-point lead in 2013.
