Saturday Parking Fees Start At Falls Church Metro (ICYMI)
It's the first weekend Metro is charging fees at East and West Falls Church and other parking garages on Saturdays.

FALLS CHURCH, VA—Earlier this week commuters have seen lower West Falls Church parking fees and $8.95 "non-rider" fees at a few Northern Virginia stations with parking garages and lots. Now parking fees on Saturdays kicked off at East Falls Church and West Falls Church Metro, along with other parking garages and lots on Saturday, Feb. 10.
Metro is charging $2 parking fees on Saturdays as part of its six-month pilot program to find new revenue sources. Weekday parking is now $3 at West Falls Church, while rates stay the same at East Falls Church. Parking on Sundays and federal holidays remains free.
At other stations like Dunn Loring, Huntington and Franconia-Springfield, the $8.95 "non-rider" fee applies on Saturdays too. Metro charges the higher fee to anyone paying with a credit card, paying with a SmarTrip card not used for their Metro ride or paying with SmarTrip more than two hours after the start of their last Metro ride. Riders can avoid the charges by using Metro and paying the parking fee with SmarTrip after their Metro trip ends.
