What's Open, Closed For Christmas 2018 In Falls Church
Different services around Falls Church will have closings or limited hours on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

FALLS CHURCH, VA—Christmas Eve falls on a Monday this year, so services may be closed for a long weekend and remain closed through Christmas Day. Many services will be closed for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in Falls Church, including government offices, libraries and schools. A few services such as Metro and recycling centers will have limited hours on Christmas Eve.
Here are the openings and closings to know on and around Monday, Dec. 24 (Christmas Eve) and Tuesday, Dec. 25 (Christmas Day).
City of Falls Church and Fairfax County Offices: Closed Dec. 24-25.

Falls Church City Public Schools: Closed Dec. 24-Jan. 1.
Fairfax County Public Schools: Closed Dec. 24-Jan. 4.

Courts: Arlington and Fairfax County Circuit Court, General District Court and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court are closed Dec. 24-25.
Community Centers: The Falls Church Community Center will be closed on Dec. 24-25. Fairfax County Neighborhood and Community Services (NCS) programs, activities and facilities will be closed Dec. 22-Dec. 25.
Fairfax Connector and Fastran: Fairfax Connector bus service will operate on a holiday weekday schedule on Christmas Eve and a Sunday schedule on Christmas Day. See www.fairfaxcounty.gov/connector for more information. Fastran will not operate on Dec. 24-25.
Mary Riley Styles Public Library and Fairfax County Libraries: Closed Dec. 24-25.
Metrorail: On Dec. 25, Metrorail will operate on a Sunday schedule from 8 a.m.-11 p.m. There is no track work scheduled for Dec. 24-25. For more information, visit www.wmata.com.
Metrobus: On Nov. 22, Metrobus will operate on a Sunday schedule www.wmata.com.
Fairfax County Parks: All county-operated parks are closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Fairfax County Recreation Centers: All rec centers except George Washington RECenter (closed) are open regular hours until noon on Dec. 24 and closed on Dec. 25.
Recycling: I-66 Transfer Station (4618 West Ox Road, Fairfax) and I-95 Landfill (9850 Furnace Road, Lorton) will close at 1 p.m. on Christmas Eve and be closed Christmas Day.
Trash Pickup: City of Falls Church trash pickup will happen as scheduled on Dec. 26. Fairfax County trash, recycling, yard waste and special collection services do not happen on Christmas Day. Contact private service providers for holiday hours.
