Witness Sought In Arson With Fireworks In Seven Corners/Arlington

Fire officials seeking a possible witness to stolen fireworks used to ignite a vehicle on the Seven Corners/Arlington border.

SEVEN CORNERS, VA — Arson involving stolen fireworks in the Seven Corners/Arlington area is leading Arlington's fire officials to investigate.

The fire marshal's office is investigating arson of a vehicle around 9 p.m. on June 17 in the area of Patrick Henry Drive, Wilson Boulevard and McKinley Road. The fire department had responded to a vehicle fire, which was later determined to be arson.

Officials believe fireworks were stolen from a commercial fireworks stand in the 5100 block of Wilson Boulevard in Arlington. Those stolen fireworks were used to burn the vehicle.

The fire marshal's office is seeking to identify a person of interest who may have information or witnessed the incident.
