Woman Scores $250K Lottery Win In Bailey's Crossroads
Part of Silvia Jackson's daily routine is playing a lottery ticket. It paid off big time this month.
BAILEY'S CROSSROADS, VA—Each morning, Silvia Jackson plays a lottery ticket before heading to work. That routine paid off one Monday morning in March.
The New Carrollton, Md. woman won the top prize in the $250,000 Fortune ticket. The result was so shocking, she had to call her friend to check that she read it correctly.
Her friend's response: "Girl, you won $250,000!"

The odds of winning the top prize in this game are 1,836,000, while there's a 1 in 4.01 chance of winning any prize. Jackson bought her ticket at the Giant Food at 3480 South Jefferson Street, Falls Church.
After scoring the prize, Jackson told the Virginia lottery she's "happy as can be right now." She has no immediate plans to spend her winnings but may put aside money for travel and her granddaughter's college fund.
