Worker Dies After Electrocution In West Falls Church Area

Police say a worker was electrocuted while trimming trees in a residential neighborhood.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA—A worker died after being electrocuted in a West Falls Church residential neighborhood Tuesday night, according to Fairfax County Police.

Officers and rescue personnel responded to the 3400 block of Surrey Lane around 8:14 p.m. Detectives believe the worker was trimming trees off the ground and came in contact with a power line. Dominion Power had to deactivate the power line before rescuers could respond.

The man was identified as Jacinto Gomez Diaz, 41, of Culpeper. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:37 p.m. No one else was injured.
