9-Year-Old Girl Grabbed, Taken To Car In Stafford County Abduction Attempt: Police

A 9-year-old girl was the victim of an attempted kidnapping in Stafford County on Friday afternoon, police said.

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — Someone attempted to abduct a 9-year-old girl in Stafford County on Friday afternoon, according to a report from the sheriff's office. The girl was able to escape, but police are still looking for a suspect.

The kidnapping attempt occurred around 2:50 p.m. on Friday on Basswood Drive in Embrey Mill. There, a suspect grabbed the 9-year-old girl and took her to his car, the sheriff's office said. The girl was able to get out of the car and run away.

The suspect is described as a white man with a light brown goatee and a dark jacket. He was driving a black Buick Regal, police said.

Anyone with more information can contact the sheriff's office at 540-658-4400. Residents in Embrey Mill can expect a large police presence as the sheriff's office conducts their investigation.
