Alec Baldwin Stresses Importance Of Election During NoVA Visit

About 20 people braved Tuesday's weather to protest the actor's visit to Leeland Station's Belle Air Clubhouse in North Stafford.

NORTH STAFFORD, VA — Actor Alec Baldwin made stops in Northern Virginia Tuesday to campaign for Virginia's Democratic Senate and House of Delegates candidates and stress to voters the importance of the upcoming Nov. 5 election. According to a report, Baldwin spoke to a crowd of about 150 people at Leeland Station’s Belle Air Clubhouse in North Stafford.

Baldwin also planned to visit Chesterfield County to support Amanda Pohl, candidate for Virginia Senate District 11, and Fairfax County for Dan Helmer, candidate for Virginia House District 40. In Fredericksburg, Baldwin was supporting Joshua Cole, candidate for Virginia House District 28, and Qasim Rashid, candidate for Virginia Senate District 28.

The visit was organized by People For the American Way, an organization for which Baldwin is a board member.

During his visit to the clubhouse, Baldwin encouraged those in attendance to aggressively continue their efforts of canvassing neighborhoods, emailing friends and donating money in the days leading up to the November election, the Free Lance-Star reported. He also praised Democratic candidates for stepping up to run for office.

Outside the North Stafford venue, about 20 people gathered to protest Baldwin's visit.

While in Richmond, Baldwin told Democrats and reporters he believes flipping the Republican-controlled House of Delegates and Senate would benefit Virginia residents and increase the state's chances of ratifying the Equal Rights Amendment.

Baldwin is most known for his roles in the television series "30 Rock" and movies such as "The Departed." He also frequently appears as President Donald Trump on "Saturday Night Live."
