FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A 4o-year-old Fredericksburg woman is facing an accessory after the fact charge for her role in an armed robbery at a local McDonald's restaurant on Friday night, according to authorities.
Fredericksburg police responded around 8:45 p.m. to investigate the report of an altercation between several customers at the McDonald’s at 1200 block of Emancipation Highway.
The victim told police that two men displayed a firearm and stole property from him, according to the incident report. No injuries were reported.
On Tuesday, police released surveillance video and a photo of the two men who they say were suspects in the case, according to the report.
The first suspect was described as a dark-skinned Black man with shorter dreadlocks, who stood about 5-foot-6. He was wearing a long-sleeve white shirt and dark jeans, according to police. The second suspect was described as a dark-skinned Black man with short dreadlocks and a heavier build. He was wearing a dark blue or black jacket and jeans.

Investigators determined that the two men fled the scene in a silver minivan driven by 40-year-old Jilliant Lee Coleman of Fredericksburg, the report says. The van was recovered shortly after 9 p.m. in the 1400 block of Caroline Street. Coleman was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact and released on a $2,500 bond.
Coleman is scheduled to be arraigned at 8:30 a.m. on May 6 in Fredericksburg Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for 10 a.m on July 1, according to court records.
The accessory after the fact charge is a Class 1 misdemeanor, which carries a potential penalty of up to 12 months in jail and/or a fine of up to $2,500, under the Code of Virginia.
A city resident notified police that her surveillance video recorded the two suspects in the 1400 block of Caroline Street around 9:45 p.m, authorities say.
Anyone who may have witnessed the altercation at the McDonald's or the two suspects in the downtown area on Friday night is asked to call the Fredericksburg Police Department at 540-373-3122.
