FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A Manassas man was charged with public intoxication after a Stafford County sheriff's deputy reported seeing him stumbling behind the Walmart at 11 Village Parkway in Fredericksburg on Monday.
According to the police report, the deputy observed an individual stumbling behind the store just before 10 p.m. The incident report states that, after making contact, the suspect admitted to consuming alcohol earlier that day.
The suspect displayed signs of impairment, including a strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath and an unsteady balance, according to the sheriff's office. The suspect was then arrested,
A bottle of alcohol was found on the suspect's person, according to the report. The sheriff's office identified the suspect as 44-year-old Jose Nativi of Manassas.

Nativi was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober, according to the report.
On May 28, Nativi has a 9 a.m. hearing in Stafford General District Court to face the public intoxication charge, according to court records. A Class 4 misdemeanor, the charge is punishable by a maximum fine of $250, in Virginia.
Nativi also has a June 4 appearance in Stafford General District Court on the same charge related to a May 5 arrest, according to court documents. He was out on bond for this offense when he was arrested on Monday night.
